Solitary Moment

I took this picture just outside of Newport, Rhode Island. It is a favorite of mine for three reasons:

1. I took this photo from inside a moving motor coach.

2. It was taken around mid to late morning, if I remember correctly; those reflections are of sunlight. Also, it looks like it is a black and white photograph, but it is in color. A camera anomaly to be sure. I don’t know how it happened and doubt I could ever repeat it, but there it is.

3. I just really like it.

What are your thoughts?

I really like it also! I have a photo from a plane of the golden gate bridge and it looks like it is in sepia, but it is also in color…maybe the common details are 1. Be in moving opject 2. Taken thru glass 3. A large body of water?

  2. I haven’t any ideas as to why it looks black and white, but it is a beautiful shot!

    Very nicely done. Very serene.

Very moody. I love happy accidents like this. They’ve created some of my favorites, also.

Wonderfully saturated and dark…love the aloneness…very powerful.
