Boating in Bruges

Dijver Canal, Bruges, BelgiumView of the Dijver Canal, Bruges, Belgium.

Bruges is renowned for its beauty. One picturesque scene after another seems to be waiting around every corner. Although we explored the city on foot, traveling beside and over canals, many choose to view Bruges by boat. In this photo of the Dijver Canal, one such passenger-laden boat is about to pass beneath the bridge while another boat awaits embarkation. Perhaps its passengers will emerge from the crowd on Rozenhoedskaai?

Previously, I posted a picture of the Dijver Canal with a view towards the Belfry Tower. This photo was taken from the same spot, but facing the tower of the Church of Our Lady, the tallest structure in the city, which stands beyond the shops and pedestrians on Rozenhoedskaai.
